Austin,
Texas, November 5, 2008 – Austin
general contractor SpawMaxwell is at it again – telling
jokes and raising money for a good cause. The
3rd Annual Night of Comedy featuring SpawMaxwell
stand-up comics starts with networking and cash
bar at 6 p.m. and show from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.,
Wednesday, November 5 at the Cap City Comedy
Club. This year’s beneficiary is the Lance
Armstrong Foundation, which
inspires and empowers people affected by cancer.
All proceeds benefit the Lance Armstrong
Foundation.
“We feel so fortunate to be the beneficiaries
of SpawMaxwell’s Night of Comedy,” said
Doug Ulman, President and CEO of the Lance Armstrong
Foundation. “We certainly aren’t
going to let cancer get the last laugh and are
grateful to them for joining us in the fight against
a disease that takes more than 565,000 American
lives each year.”
The SpawMaxwell comedy show puts a different twist
on traditional fundraisers by giving employees
and area businesses a unique and fun way to get
involved in charitable giving. More than 20 Austin
area businesses supported the 2008 SpawMaxwell
Night of Comedy, including TD Industries and Lighthouse
Electrical each sponsoring the event at the $2,500 “Tour
de France” level. By day, the SpawMaxwell
comics are mild mannered construction professionals
(most of the time): Superintendents, project managers,
and coordinators. By night, they emerge as comedic
warriors’ Hell bent on getting laughs. And
SpawMaxwell delivers. See clips from previous shows
