Austin,
Texas, April 15, 2010 – The Austin office
was awarded the Ultra Electronics project to kick
off the start of Q210. The fast track, 76,000 SF
finish-out of a warehouse in south Austin starts
in mid May. The multifaceted effort to win the
Ultra deal was truly an “all hands on deck” effort.
The Ultra project team includes: Jane Kalina, project executive; Chris
Savasky, project manager; Todd Evans, superintendent; McLain
Hall, estimator; and Meg Drucker, coordinator. This
win demonstrates that “It's not always about the numbers, but about the
number of people who worked on helping get this project done,” said Austin
General Manager Jane Kalina.
Special recognition for their help with the Ultra win goes to SpawMaxwell employees:
- Travis McGarraugh and Joe
Martinez for their help in producing
the first preliminary schedule
- McLain Hall for
his participation in putting the GMAX pricing
together and participating in the interviews
- Chris Savasky and Todd
Evans for helping to sell SpawMaxwell
in 2 back-to-back interviews; additional props
to Todd for his awesome cowboy hat!
- Tom Rowland for
joining David
Spaw in Dallas for introductions to
the building landlord
- Tim Garbutt for
putting all the marketing material together for
each package
“The lesson learned here,” added Jane, “is to go for it, do
what it takes to connect with all players in the deal, and as Todd would say…it's
all about the hat!”
