took top honors in three categories for interior
construction at the annual Outstanding Construction
Awards banquet sponsored by the Austin Chapter
of the Associated General Contractors.
SpawMaxwell was awarded the 2009 Outstanding Construction Award for interior
construction for the following projects:
- St. David’s Labor & Delivery, with
Architect Schneider Halls Design (< $500K
category). Mark McDonald, project manager;
Jeff Bradley, superintendent
- Luminex, with Architect
Studio 8 ($500K-$2M category). Chris
Savasky, project manager; David Perez, superintendent
- Lance Armstrong Foundation with Architect Lake/Flato
and The Bommarito Group ($2M-$5M category). Chris
Savasky, project Manager; Todd Evans, superintendent

Wins Award of Excellence for Friedkin Companies
Campus (Houston) and Lance Armstrong Foundation
(Austin)
Late last year, SpawMaxwell was recognized by Texas
Construction for its work on two projects –Friedkin Companies Campus and Lance Armstrong Foundation
- with an Award of Excellence for each project. SpawMaxwell was also given
formal recognition at the awards banquet for its selection as Contractor of the
Year.
The Friedkin Companies Campus was a joint venture with Tellepsen, and won in
the Office category. Steve Keffeler, principal; Jaaron Wood and Adam Wheeless,
project managers; superintendents for the project included: Aaron Alexander,
Brad Barnes, Milton Carter, Jerry Elder, Jeff Grymes, Jeff Kilgore, Matt Lombardo,
Walter Mooney and Jim Twilley.
Lance Armstrong Foundation won the in the Green Building category. Chris Savasky,
project manager; Todd Evans, superintendent.
Friedkin Companies Campus was later certified as a Silver LEED project. Lance
Armstrong Foundation was later certified as a Gold LEED project.
