GENERAL MANAGER AUSTIN
Jane Kalina recognizes the value of a smile and
a good laugh. When she joined SpawMaxwell during
the first month of the company’s merger in
August 1998, she wasn’t necessarily looking
to make a move. Jane remembers laughing a lot during
her interview with David Spaw and Fred Maxwell
as the two shared memories from their early days
in construction. Jane immediately felt at
home. Prior to joining SpawMaxwell, she worked
for Houston architect Dwayne Loftice & Associates
and the Houston design-build firm SLI Design. In
2000 SpawMaxwell expanded into Austin and Jane
was part of the advance team. She was named General
Manager of the Austin office in 2006.
Jane and her husband Dave enjoy spending
time with family in the country, and
traveling to auctions where they can
breathe new life into forgotten items
whether it is a rare old tractor or a
cast iron garden table.
